A popular and easy-to-use Windows firewall free for personal use. ZoneAlarm's free version has a limited feature set but is a much better firewall than the one provided for Windows XP and has some advantages over the increased security of Service Pack 2 firewall. The software has won multiple awards over many years for its ease of use and security.
The program - at install - is effectively nagware for the number of screens and popups encouraging users to upgrade.
ZoneAlarm's "Pro" version includes a variety of different programs bundled into ZoneAlarm but effectively works the same as the free version as a firewall.
Negatively, it does not allow individual port blocking for advanced users and probably should not be considered a server-level firewall.
