You made a change on a page from "it's" to "its". I like you already. =) -- rack

I sleep with The Elements of Style under my pillow. I tried Fowler, but it was too big. -- Stephen Gilbert
Ya know, I think it's ironic that the first link is CamelNotation. =) That aside, I with I had learned english in school.. (oh hell, I even made a hilarious typo there, I think I'll leave that in). I, like many people, am unfortunately left with an instinct for sentance structure and grammar, and end up relying on that ethereal talent where others have actual knowledge. -- rack
All said tongue-in-cheek: =P Hah.. I just noticed that the link to Fowler is for "Fowler's Modern English Usage". The term "Modern" refers to the Modern Age, like the Romantic Age etc. We're somewhere Post-"Post-Modern" now. Information Age perhaps. I guess it should be renamed "Fowler's Contemporary English Usage", as I'm not even sure if English existed in the Modern Age. -- rack

Noting a wee typo correction you did: I'm confused.. isn't It's the posessive form.. so I can say "It's object" can't I? I think I've got that one mixed up somehow. -- rack

A very common mistake. "It's" is always a contraction for "it is". "Its" is the possessive. -- Stephen Gilbert

Bah, I'm so tired of English and it's vague rules.
=p
Well at least I'll learn that one.. I had known it some time ago, but I guess I dropped the skill in preference for, uh, knowing how to use a comma in a sentance.. ok, maybe I just forgot. -- rack

Oh yeah, also check out Ad-Blocking, if you're interested in the filtering proxies etc. Maybe you could get into the "better way to be on the net" type stuff.. it's interconnected I suppose -- rack

When doing more than casual research, I never limit myself to Google. Altavista has gone down the toilet, so I never use it. However, Google doesn't allow certain things, and is case insensitive, which can be a problem sometimes. Also, the way it handles boolean is funny. Kartoo is great for mapping relationships, and Teoma makes it a snap to refine searches. Finally, not even Google can index everything; different engines have different indexes. I'll get around to writing this up... -- Stephen Gilbert

Some alternates are currently listed.. and I did some stressing on using multiple tools.. perhaps not enough stressing. A "what if Google burns down" subtopic should still be spoken of. -- rack

Removed some dated chatter.. I made some reasonable entries to wiki from those resources you handed me a while back (like meatball) -- rack

I redid a bit of How To Search, perhaps you could take a look at it when you've got some time. I tried to break it down a bit.. but there are a couple of items which need to be fleshed out. -- rack
