Traffic

Traffic is a kind of common exchange, such as data communication exchanges across a network or cars travelling on a road. Traffic usually behaves according to a set of rules or protocols.
On the Internet, traffic refers to the amount of bandwidth used. For instance, a high-traffic web site would need a higher-speed connection, or a fat pipe. File sharing and the Slashdot Effect can create large quantities of traffic for ISPs.
