Talk:Using File Sharing Networks/Naming Conventions
From iA wiki
We need to finalize exactly which characters aren't legal on which filesystems.. and perhaps we ought to get into which clients (like TekNap) can seamlessly convert characters so they can download without error.
Also, multi-byte languages aren't supported all over the place and appear as junk in some places.. perhaps some discussion on that would be valuable -- rack
I like this topic. Also, to discuss uppercase/lowercase and I'd like to pose a question, is there an issue with "_" between characters, does it matter or is it the space strictly recommended? - ABliss
- I think the issue is for UNIX - Windows system conversion. Most people on windows think the underscore looks odd but UNIX users see spaces as "%20"s. My preference is for using the _ because I have users and computers in both camps. Webfork
