Yes that's right.. and it works.. handily. You can even use it as an X11 WM if you wanted to. I fired it up and was quite impressed, but I think the UI is semi broken, and it needs some minor functionality added. Things like fluid mouse movement would really be cool (and yes it's possible on the commandline. See Twibright Links, although as of dec 2002 there's a smooth mouse patch which'd need to be applied. ->

Overall, an excellent program. I've got a good feeling about this one. ->

Off the top of my head, the major problems that would have to be addressed before I personally would use it are: ->

  • Smooth mouse movement under the console
  • Easier menu accessing - pressing alt.. why does it have to be 'pause'?
  • Easier window management - holding alt and left-dragging to move windows, alt right-dragging to resize them.
  • Remove mouse dependance - faster access to window moving and resizing using the keyboard.
  • Some better menu hotkeys - as I recall they weren't all that hot
  • User-definable hotkeys for various actions (maximizing, moving between windows)
