Talk:Multi-Network

From iA wiki

Does anyone think that:

  • A server placed on two major Internet backbones, allowing it to have more robust service.

Is an example? I really don't think "Multi-Network" is a term for that. I came up with it, I just don't like it.

So far the term is applied to a client which uses multiple network protocols. I think another term would apply for your example above.. something along the lines of a "redundant host", except really it's not redundant but a second backbone.. hrm "multiple backbone"? 'backbone' ought to be described somewhere, and from a topic like that you could go into the multiple backbone concept methinks. -- rack

The sentence on the main page about a service beeing multinetwork when connected to multiple internet backbones was deleted since the above remarks are correct. Multiple backbones is redundant, or load balancing configuration etc.
