This good versus bad shit will get nobody anywhere. Something is either unknown, true or false. I'm thinking about an in between state, a transient state of change and chaos as a 4th state. I dont think in moral terms of good and bad. I think of principles based on beliefs which forms a sense of ethics. I use this to appraise whether or not something is or was just. - ABliss
- Ironically, that is precisely the foundation of the Muslim religion. -- Amw
- I thought muslims studied the scriptures in the Koran, to read what the prophet had to say about what is right and wrong. They are like those that study the ten commandments and the bible. They think these very, very, very old texts will bring enlightenment, progress and peace. This is extremely naive. The world of today is totally different to back then. The problems we face, have no solution that can be found with religion. Concepts like karma, are convenient terms, which are easy to think of, like God.
- While I have absolutely no interest in religion, theology, or spirituality, Buddhism is based on better ideas than any other religion. This is because Buddhism rejects all forms of violence, not just direct violence. This is why there is no strong "Buddhist law" state or government. Check Religions, Hard and Soft for a map of religions. Also notice figure 2 indicates Buddhism is the most principled anti-violence religion. People need to understand that harm and violence is not just about murder and war, but also about domestic violence, pollution and other forms of cultural and structural violence. - ABliss
