Talk:Free will

From iA wiki

Most sane people want the best for everyone. The problem is that although we want to do unto others, as they would do to us, we do not currently understand the full implications of our actions.

How is this related to free will? -- Amw

Because our free will or some personal liberties are curbed in democracies. Take laws against theft of property. Unrestrained free will would result in all people not respecting all other people's property rights. Such chaos would result in little progress. Imagine all the unknown ways in which people harm others. Then imagine that most of them dont want to deliberately harm others, but do through ignorance, racism, sexism, homophobia or adherance to religious doctrine. I dont think much of the current definition. - ABliss
