Talk:Encrypted Chat Clients

From iA wiki

I'm using Psi, a Jabber client with support for PGP encrypted communication. It works well between two Psi users. I don't know anybody with other Jabber client using PGP encryption but I think trhey are using the same standard for encryption, so it must work between any Jabber clients. Can anyone confirm? --mongolito404

That's an excellent question. I would like to find out as well. Webfork
Psi implements Jabber JEP 0027, the only JEP for OpenPGP over Jabber, so I'm 99% positive they're all compatible. -- Intgr 14:59, 24 May 2006 (UTC)

Perhaps it makes more sense to group compatible chat protocols under a common heading on this page? This also makes choosing the particular client/protocol easier, and also clearly separates client-server encrypted solutions from end-to-end encrypted protocols. There are several clients that implement the same protocol and should be compatible with each other, for example, OpenPGP over Jabber and OTR (verified) with plugins for clients Miranda, Gaim and OTR AIM gateway. I'll try doing it when I get the time, unless anyone argues against it. -- Intgr 14:59, 24 May 2006 (UTC)
