Talk:Copyright Term Reform/Project Name

I'd love to see "core" in there somewhere, just cause that sounds nice. (and let's avoid CoRe) However, http://www.core.org/ is taken, being the Centre for Organ Recovery & Education.. somewhat off topic
=)
-- rack

My 2c:

I don't like the "Intellectual Progress" suggestions, as it is too broad and IMO covers trademark and patent law which we are not concentrating on.

I don't like "Copyright Heaven". To me, the term Heaven suggests a death of some sort. Not IMO what we want.

"Science of Progress" and "Copyright Reform Now" are OK I suppose but they don't really stand out for me.

So that leaves: "[World] [Citizens for] Copyright Reform". I like copyrightreform.org, but still have a gut feeling that there is a better term out there yet to be discovered.

How about some brainstorming here? Think up everything, even remotely plausible, then weed out the good from the bad.

How about trolling through the texts which have been written, and following some of the relevant links and finding "action" words which are frequently used while discussing the more poigniant items. That could be inspiring for the assembly of a list of potent words. -- rack

I dunno. I think that anything implying copyRIGHTS will cause many people to automatically tune us out as extremists who just want to steal IP from others. Science of Progress is also a little too vague. "Privileges not Rights" or something that expresses change in 'policy' not change in 'rights' would be an easier message for most lay people to digest. My 2 cents.

Is there a genuine risk that cybersquatters will grab these domains before we do, what with this being a public website and all?
