Talk:BSD Distributions

From iA wiki

This isn't really correct, most if not all bsd distros have their own kernels. given, they may have a large percentage that are identical, most of the main players all maintain completely seperate kernels. Thoughts? -schvin

Ooh, good point. I had created this topic thinking BSD distros worked the same was Linux's did. I didn't realise they were this separate. Perhaps "distributions" is the wrong word in this case? Maybe a topic rename and small explanation noting what you said would be in order.. me, I'm not all that into BSD, but I'm highly curious about it. -- rack
cool, cleaned up a bit. thanks ;] i don't think the topic rename is really necessary. -schvin
I feel kindof dirty propagating misinformation though.
;)
What would be the good word to describe the various flavours of BSD? Urr.. flavor perhaps? -- rack

Just for the sake of trying, I changed "distributions" in the first line to "variations" ... which I think works a little better. webfork
