I used Arachne's DOS version some time ago (2000) and found it hideously slow even on a decent Pentium system. Most likely it's a memory hog. I'm unsure if things have changed. While I had hoped that they looked into making an hp200lx version out of the 8086 branch, I'm not sure how well it would run. --rack

Yeah, I wasn't too impressed by Arachne either. If you use a slow system, your best bet is probably a text browser, or a very lightweight Linux system with Opera or Dillo. --Erik

The internet + DOS + an old computer is a can of worms. For 386dx+ I definitely recommend Linux. Anything other than that, upgrade. Please. While minix has recently released it's first stable, and there is networking software for DOS.. just say no. I went there, and I have gray hair to prove it. --rack
