Long form: System Operator (concatenation of system and operator)

Similar to a SysAdmin. Often, an Admin is considered more powerful than an Operator, and therefore the higher in a hierarchy.

On iA (and many other MediaWiki-powered sites), an advanced moderator status. They have the power to ban harmful visitors and make some pages on iA read-only.
