Literature is a production of language in text form which usually has a high quality of expression. Literature may refer to a particular field of study and the body of writings associated with that field.
Literature can be artistic like poetry or a description of a scene, a narrative with a plot. Alternatively literature may be non-fiction such as a government, news or statistics report, a scientific essay or a program specification.
