Kf/Mapping The World Of Agitation And Discourse

From iA wiki

< Kf

Who is working on these issues? Where? What level are they involved: research, policy, grassroots?

The idea is to build a picture so as to reduce the redundancy that exists due to lack of knowledge of what each other are doing.

You don't seem to have a user page so I'll try posting here:
Could you please look at the formatting that infoAnarchy is currently using and utilize it? Its there for a reason: having extremely long titles "Kf Mapping The World Of Agitation And Discourse" is not something that anyone else here on iA is going to really use, unlike Copyright/Mapping or something similar. Or, if these are personal projects of yourse, feel free to create Hydra/Mapping.

Apologies for the anomalous formatting, which I'll be happy to correct.

It looks like you've just cut and paste from some other page (none of "We Seize Wipo"'s links work) and that generally doesn't integrate well into an organized wiki. Organization is one of the reasons we have a high spot on Google and its just a good idea.

I have been in the process of transferring documentation that we produced of a series of actions around intellectual property and communications issues. This forms part of a larger documentation project which for the moment is called Know Future . Here is the description of the Documentation Project if you'd like to have a look. Another iA moderator emphasized that he believed that there was sufficient cross-over that the creation of a new wiki would simply be an unnecessary duplication of labour.

Furthermore, We Seize Wipo has nothing to do with iA. In other words, iA did not Seize Wipo. Please change the title of the page. Although I found it amusing, "we" implies it had something to do with iA.

We Seize! was in fact the name of a network of people active around and outside the World Summit on the information society in geneva 2003. The first person plural is not intended to refer to iA in any way, but rather the campaign.

We appreciate new additions but if you don't organize your posts, or respond to these suggestions, one of us will (we're moderators, its our job) so please save us some time and the effort of moving stuff. We don't do as good of a job on issues that don't belong to us. Webfork

In fact I think there is a question whether there really is compatibility, seeing as you (the iA team) have done an enormous amount of work (for which I congratulate and thank you) and it may be the the arrival of another 'point of view' may just creare unecessary trouble for both projects. We already have a problem in finding our modifications in the recent changes list, and there are a considerable number of your entries which are on our taxonomy (ie waiting to be developed).

Thanks for your time, and sorry for the disruption

Please don't misunderstand: I encourage you to come and express your opinions, articles, and other work here on iA. We thank you for the appreciation of our efforts here but we also want you to come and help out. One way that you can do that is by posting information to iA about things you're working on. Posting it haphazardly is fine but realize that we will attempt to organize and cleanup after you. During this "cleanup" some of your information, as it may not seem relevant, may get cut. If you enter the information in the format that iA has already set up, that makes the process quite a bit faster and makes our jobs easier.

I have been working on iA for the past year and I have had no issues with the Recent Changes function. What are the nature of your problems?

As an example, take the Documentation Project entry -- it should include information on how to run a documentation project. In its current state, the correct name should be either Pf or whatever the project is followed by Pf/Documentation or Pf/Documentation Project. In the case of We Seize, I would suggest creating "We Seize", creating a subtopic We Seize/WIPO.

If you decide that you're still not interested in integrating your information with iA, please let me know. Thanks,
