"Graphic" is used interchangably with "picture", but is a specific reference to a picture in a digital format or displayed by a computer.
A graphic is to a picture what audio is to sound. A graphic in itself is not the visual equivalent of music. The word "graphic" is used to describe the context in which a computer image is displayed and not necessarily to describe art. There are, however, graphicians or graphic artists who do work in the "graphic" medium to produce art.
