A dictatorship is when one person has absolute leadership in a government. Dictatorships are associated with increased oppression, a lack of human and civil liberties and an absence of democracy.
Historically dictatorships formed from colonial occupations, monarchies and communism. Dictatorships can end with a successful plot.
