Encryption: FreeOTFE v4.71 and FreeOTFE Explorer v2.10 released - the first disk encryption system to be released which doesn't need administrator rights to be used "portably" (e.g. with USB sticks)

Filesharing/Encryption: www.gigatribe.com Shalsoft releases GigaTribe 2.40, the latest version of its private file-sharing software for networks of friends. GigaTribe lets users select specific folders on their harddrive that they want to share with friends or coworkers; users then invite each other into their private networks. All exchanges are encrytped and entire folders can be exchanged (no file-size limits).

Encryption: FreeOTFE4PDA v2.10 released. FreeOTFE4PDA can create one or more encrypted "virtual storage cards" on Pocket PCs, which look like a normal compact flash or SD card (i.e. storage card) to the user, but encrypt data before it is written to the real storage giving "transparent encryption"). Also available is a PC version ("FreeOTFE") which offers similar functionality for desktop computers

Anonymity/Privacy/Encryption/Filesharing & Chat: Retroshare.sf.net 0.30, the anonymity-sensitive open source public domain distributed File Sharing Chat Messenger system, is now available for download (Windows and Linux installers). Retroshare serverless & encrypted Instant Messenger is a cross-platform private p2p sharing program. It lets you share securely your friends, using a web-of-trust to authenticate peers and OpenSSL to encrypt all communication, Chat and Instant Messages.

Retroshare provides filesharing, Groupchat, Email-Messages and channels for content Distribution. Its similar like Waste from Nullsoft, only that the buddy is not lost in the next online session and with enhanced FileSharing.

This is an alpha release ("substantial changes still in progress, liable to break, for geeks only") that could be useful for early developers and adopters (code contributions are welcome). Syndie aka Syndiemedia is brought to you by the development team of I2P.

Anonymity: New Torpark Release - an anonymous and self-contained Web browser is released with updates and bug fixes. Effectively Portable Firefox with set of choice plugins (including Tor).

Filesharing Allpeers Enters Public Beta - a secure Friend-to-Friend file sharing system using Firefox. Contains some bugs, problems, and limitations on number of files shared but is expected to soon be the Firefox "killerapp." Read more from zeropaid.
